Adam completed his Masters degree at James Cook University (JCU) in 2001 with a focus on post traumatic stress disorder. Adam has since completed the Doctorate of Clinical Geropsychology with a focus on the measurement of depression, anxiety and stress in senior citizens.

Adam started his career in outback Queensland in 2001 working in an adult community mental health setting. Since 2006 he has worked in a community mental health setting for Older Adults and on the Crisis Assessment Treatment Team in Tasmania.

His philosophy toward treatment is that of a common-sense problem solver who is focused on a positive patient journey and development of processes that help to not only overcome the presenting problem but to function better generally.
